Horrible business practices.

Had made an appointment for an at home review for installing a chair lift. Was uncomfortable with phone discussion, so decided to also review other options. After making other arrangements, we called and cancelled our appointment with a week's notice, with Easy Climber. The following day, they started non-stop calling our home. When answering machine kicked in, they hung up and called again. They called 26 times between 11:47 am and 4:41. They only left 1 voicemail message stating that they were calling to reschedule our appointment, since the first one did not work for us. Really? So glad we did not do business with them. So very unprofessional.

Needing service

My next door neighbor has only has his Easy Climber Elevator for apprx. 6 months and his quit working. Having a hard time getting service to look at it (as well as answering the phone!) You would think that the amount he paid for it they would want to make sure a 91 year old man did not have to climb any stairs!! I am hoping something is done soon because he has already fallen down a few of the bottom stairs and had to do to the hospital, It was a blessing that his injuries weren't too bad, Now he is back to the stairs due to the elevator not working. Hopefully this will be read by someone in authority and they will respond to his need for a working elevator.

Inadequate info. Manufactured, distributed, sold, installed by whom ?

After several work orders,( replacement of two master control boards), the equipment has not worked properly since it was installed. The contractors refers all work orders to the supplier (Canadian) and the installer has given up and referred us back to the contractor. We have requested Aging in the Home Remodelers (Supplier) to either replace the entire unit or refund our money. We will most likely seek legal advice to resolve this contract dispute. If there are other with similar complaints maybe a class action resolution will get this company/supplier to resolve the issue Equipment installed 11/20/2018 Equipment failed Mid April

Got about 15 calls in a 5 hour period because I had had to fill out information in order to proceed. Right after I got home she called again. She kept trying to get me to set up an appointment with their "technician", who could then answer all my questions. I was on their we site while talking to the young lady and told her I wanted to see pictures and have more information before I have anyone out. Her main goal was to set up an appointment without even basic questions answered. She finally told me when I told her I needed more information that "maybe Easy climber was not right for you". I agreed and hung up. Other stair lift companies have discussed price ranges and installation with us when we called. Personally I would be very wary of them. They appear to have very high pressure sales.

I am very familiar with this companies sales and service program. Many of us had joined the company to help Seniors and make a living in the process.

We all mostly did just that we thought, but as time went on we discovered that their pricing was inflated ie: a stairlift that can be purchased anywhere and installed for $2500-$3500 sells for 5495. Check out Savaria g2 stair lifts, Exactly the same product without the EasyClimber logo. They provided almost no service and none of it from the company.

I hear that they also do no background checks on the people they send to your home. The more I learn about them the worse I feel about being involved with them.

If the Mark here is an Easy Climber employee..he should be fired for his response to this customer. These companies scan scam people for a while but eventually it catches up to them and they go under. I was pricing stair lifts for my husband...I wont be buying one from Easy Climber or Acorn..people do read these reviews...

Guest

Mark - what a jerk you are, obviously your strength is NOT sales or compassion for handicapped/elderly. SHAME ON YOU! You are just a hired writer who has no interest in your job but to argue with people.

Guest

So it is a scam if no one shows up and does not charge you??? What a joke you are!

How is this taking advantage of elderly or anyone else??

OMG I am so glad you warned me of this scam that won't take any of my money, but possibly a little time. Get a life!!

Thanks, but no thanks!

I also had to fill out information in order to find out more on the Easy Climber. As soon as I sent the information, my phone started ringing like crazy, it was relentless! I screen my calls and do not answer unless I recognize the number, but they called so many times I answered out of frustration. The sales person was very persistent. When asking for information ( most of what he seemed not to know about) he said it would be best to make an appointment to come to look at my home to evaluate. I reluctantly agree, and made plans to have my contractor there when they showed up, because I wasn't feeling really comfortable with the phone call. The day before they were suppose to come ( a date and time THEY told me they could do it, they called to cancel! I told them I would prefer not to reschedule and asked for a brochure to be sent to me so that I could have more information and not have to go through this again before deciding if this was a good fit for me. That was three weeks ago, and no brochure yet! I'll not do business with them, the seem very shady and not really reliable!

Don't call if you are a WOMAN!

I would like to install an elevator to my guest apartment and called to speaks Marion extension 3017. I made an appointment but when she found out my husband was not going to be present she cancelled the appointment and told me they would not come out unless he was going to be here. I asked for a supervisor and she refused making up excuses and saying no one was available . When I said she was going to lose a sale she said ," THATS OK WE HAVE OTHER SALES". I would never do business with people with so little respect for their customers . She really DID LOSE A SALE but apparently there are others who will deal with them. Not me.

They are just starting they contractor division. There are some bugs in their system they are working on.

The sub contractor for my area was out of the country He contacted me and apologized. Dave from first call also called an apologized for any problems. With that said everyone needs to understand that their business model and target customer is for someone doing a after the fact renovation not new construction.

I understand on a renovation they can not quote without seeing what will have to be removed. Dave told me he will address this type issue with the call center

He could not give ballpark without seeing the house that I dont even have a full set of plans for muchless built. 2 other elevators companied gave me a ball park. I waiting to see if the contractor side ever calls me back and ar3 different. He did say the have them from 5 k to 40k. The parant company also sells walk in tubs. Very discouraging Easy Climber

60 days ago (Oct 27) we contracted with Easy Climber (Lakewood, CO) for a residential elevator (looks great in brochure) - they said possibly by Thanksgiving - surely by Christmas. However - still has not happened (Dec 28) We gave them ten grand weeks ago. After several calls beginning in mid November they can not tell us if they have even applied for permits. That is apparently someone else's business. Their internal communications is seemingly non-existent, i.e. stinks. Queries to their phone numbers result in we will alert someone and they will get back to you. Right. Catch 22! Us Korea and Viet vets know this drill. When they do get back they have creative reasons for not having an answer, etc, etc, (Today - boss was on holiday, tomorrow I go on holiday - truly that is what he said) My graduate students at Ca State Univ were never as creative as folks with Easy Climber. VERY, VERY Discouraging - but I feel it may speak to a much larger issue - companies taking advantage of seniors - and this is intolerable. If our issue is not resolved amicably - and soon - I will send a complete dossier to our senators. We are eager to get the advertised product (my wife is severely handicapped) and we surely hope this is not elder abuse. We are constantly being bombarded with all kinds of schemes. If this is one - we will retain legal assistance and try to drive them out of business. Sincerely Viggo P. Hansen, PhD 619 225 ****

Never. Ever.

Give a contractor, manufacturer, salesperson etc. substantial or total payment up front for a promise of goods or services in the future.

In California, payment to contractors is limited to 10% up front of the cost stated in the contract agreement. Hope this company/contractor is licensed to do business in your state.

Tried to call this company to get information for my parents. Very condescending and poor customer service from STEPHEN. Stephen was asking very personal information without giving information about the product. When trying to get information on the product he kept trying to get personal information about my elderly parents. Very disconcerting that in this day and age there are such people that pray on our elderly. I went with a different company and paid for a lovely stair lift that works great. If the initial information seeking is so poor not worth considering. BEWARE of poor customer service. Done

From The day that the Easy climder was installed i've had nothing but trouble With this devise ranging from unable to transit up or down with anything on your lap or in your hand will fall and roll all the way to bottom of stairs. Sales rep. stated most seniors use it as a dumb waiter with i find dumb. As for as i am concerned this product is no more than junk. I tried to have it removed and was told that after 3 days it's my headache. I paid $7,000.00 for this trash and should have done more research before i agreed to this product. I DO NOT recommend this chair because there are more better chairs at better prices, check it out. JUNK JUNK JUNK

Fire your marketing dept. I called and was told voicemail not yet set up! Really?

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Your ad says to call 1-88*-788-****. Try it!!

If that's an indication of your Customer Service, you should not be in business. Rule One: Make sure the mailbox is set up. Rule Two-Oh Wait, no Rule Two, you'll be out of business because of Rule One incompetence. I wanted information to decide upon purchase.

Must have spent "buco bucks" to advertise in Parade-full page, four color and no way to contact you. OMG fire your entire marketing department immediately. I am only one - I wonder how many other sales you lost as a result of pure incompetency.

I simply cannot believe this stupidity. By the way, I waited till Monday to make the call - as I thought w/e might not be good.

Service

I purchased an Easy Climber - it worked when I bought it - Now I need parts - they are unwilling to help me. Cannot even get part numbers or where to buy the parts.

I have called the Colorado office several times and am now trying to work with Virginia office. I am now waiting for answers to my emails. Nice way to treat the elderly.

Probably next step is to contact Consumer Fraud Division at the Colorado Attorney General's office. My chief complaint is with Helping Aged in the Home - all they want is to sell more inferior products to the elderly.

I would like to get this resolved and to let others know about their shoddy business practices and stay away from HGIR/

For a company that is supposed to be helping the elderly this one really sucks.Their service team is absolutely the worst. They could care less about the elderly.

Wish I could find a number for their owner/CEO. I guess the state of Missouri only has one guy that handles all the repairs for the entire state. Been almost a month since I called for help.

My husband is disabled and they could not give one wit. I am going to continue my search for the owner, president or CEO of this pretend company.

Have you been able to find that information? Same thing has happened to an elderly neighbor and the company refuses to repair the chair, which has been installed for less than a year!

Easy Climber stair lifts

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I would not recommend Easy Climber either. I ordered 2 stair lifts and told the salesman I wanted the pretty white one. He was new in that line of products and didn't tell me till after they were installed that they only come in tan in the Midwest. So, if I lived on the east coast or west coast, I could get the pretty one??? The pictures that they show in their advertisements are very nice and sturdy looking and are white. The ones I got are cheap and flimsy. They are supposed to be coming to fix them. One has a cord that keeps coming out of the slot in back and rubbing against my wall making black marks. The other one is not solid and leans forward making it difficult to get on and off the seat. I wrote a letter to the president in Lakewood, CO, and was told there was nothing they could do about changing the unattractive tan ones for the pretty white ones. I'm going to contact MO Attorney General next.
